WSTS has published the Q4 2020 semiconductor market figures and re-calculated the Fall 2020 Forecast using the actual figures of the fourth quarter 2020.
The Worldwide Semiconductor Market was up 6.8 percent in 2020, and is expected to show a double-digit growth of 10.9 percent in 2021
WSTS has published the Q4 2020 semiconductor market figures and re-calculated the Fall 2020 Forecast using the actual figures of the fourth quarter 2020.
Worldwide semiconductor market sales were US$ 440 billion in 2020 - an increase of 6.8 percent from 2019.
This reflects the growth in all major product categories, except Optoelectronics and Discrete Semiconductors. The largest growth contributors are Logic with 11.1 percent, followed by Sensors with 10.7 percent, and Memory with 10.4 percent.
In 2020, America’s region produced a very strong 21.3 percent growth, Europe showed a market decrease of 5.8 percent, while Japan and Asia Pacific had a single digit positive growth-rate.
Worldwide Semiconductor Market Growth is expected to accelerate in 2021
The worldwide semiconductor market is expected to increase by 10.9 percent in 2021 which corresponds to sales of US$ 488 billion.
The market is driven by Sensors with 16.8 percent, followed by Analog with 15.2 percent and Logic with 13.0 percent.
A double-digit growth is expected for all geographical regions, except Americas.
